I have pointed myself in the direction of a touring musician since 2020, alone on the hardwood floor, still scared to sing in front of people, and just starting to learn how I play guitar.
Perhaps it was a blend of paranoia and psychosis, a yearning for the past, that switched my footing from photographer to musician again. I’ve been chasing the feeling of being in a 100-person choir in high school, the blended on-mic jazz group and summer camps. With the confusion of a college a cappella group, they all seem to coagulate into a push to bring people together, to blend voices, to share our free time together.
Last night, in a cozy corner home in Long Beach, I began my first step toward being a touring musician. Pulled myself up front of the local crowd who felt open and safe, and I stumbled my way through my message of my music.
There’s so much to say, and I will say it little by little.
The Cold Feet Tour. To do the things we’re scared of doing. The fear of showing your true self, and the fear of loving them enough to change your entire world.
